WHAT TO DO IF YOU LOSE A BRACKET...

The braces are bonded to your teeth with a very strong bonding material, similar to the material used when we do a "white" filling. However, the bond can be broken, resulting in a lost or loosened bracket. It is very important that you avoid hard and sticky foods. In the event you do lose a bracket…DON'T PANIC! If the bracket is off the wire please save it and bring it with you at your next appointment. It is not necessary for you to make a special appointment. If the bracket is still on the wire and is NOT bothersome, leave it until your next appointment. If the bracket is still on the wire and is bothering you, you can have someone remove the colored "tie" with a tweezers, this will allow the bracket to come off the wire. If all else fails, CALL US and we will get you right in. We want this experience to be as pleasant as possible.
