CARE OF...

Always wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before handling your aligners. Be sure to handle only ONE aligner at a time. Clean your aligners prior to each insertion using a soft bristle toothbrush and a small amount of toothpaste. Rinse each aligner thoroughly in water. DO NOT use denture cleaners or soak them in mouthwash. This will damage the surface causing it to become dull and more visible.
  1. Make sure you have the proper aligner-upper for the top teeth and lower for your bottom teeth
  2. Each aligner is engraved with your case number, a "U" for upper or "L" for lower, followed by the stage number
  3. When inserting each aligner, gently push the aligner over your front teeth. Then apply equal pressure, using your fingertips, to the tops of your left and right molars (back teeth) until the aligner snaps into place.
  4. DO NOT BITE your aligners into position.
Make sure you store your aligners in the case provided when they are not in your mouth.

You should wear your aligners at all times, with the exception of eating, in order to complete your treatment in the timeline determined by Dr. Metelka. You'll come in for occasional checkups, to monitor your progress and to receive your next set of aligners. During the entire treatment process, you'll be able to watch your teeth gradually moving into place.

If you lose an aligner try moving to the next aligner. If that does not work, go back to the previous aligner and contact the office immediately.
